Julian Kiley is a local, independent author in Gowerton, South Wales. He devoted many a sleepless night to perfecting a children’s story that tells a meaningful story about a different sheep in a herd trying to find her way in a group that don’t accept her. The final product is a beautifully illustrated book with a wonderfully worded tale.
The Brief
Julian came to The Graphics Department looking for a platform to showcase his new book. He wanted a simple, inviting website with a simple goal: to get his book known by families and children.
The Development
We decided to utilise the beautiful illustrations on Julian’s book, hand drawn by a local welsh artist, Lucy Littler. The main focus of this project was to produce a friendly and colourful one page site, with areas for readers to leave reviews, and an easy online purchase button.
The Result
The final website does exactly as hoped. It uses the personality that the story already has, and enhances it in a site with easy usability, animation, and a celebration of local artists and writers.
